Founded in 1825, Ben Nevis Distillery is located in Fort William in the western Scottish Highlands. Its water source comes from the melting snow of Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the United Kingdom, renowned for its pure and gentle quality. In 1955, the distillery introduced a Coffey Still, becoming the first in Scotland to produce both malt and grain whisky. After being acquired by Nikka in 1989, distillation resumed, and its spirit has since become an important component for Yoichi and Miyagikyo, symbolizing the deep cultural connection between Scottish and Japanese whisky traditions.

The label design draws inspiration from Masataka Taketsuru’s cherished books and notebooks, evoking the tranquil atmosphere of a study and reflecting his reverence for time and craftsmanship. Bottled by Hidden Spirits, the whisky was distilled at Ben Nevis in 1996, with casks carefully selected by Rudder & Hayman, and released in collaboration with AQUA VITAE Whisky Selection for the Asian market. Created as a limited edition to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Ben Nevis Distillery, it embodies a spirit of collaboration that transcends regions and cultures. Only 48 bottles are available in Taiwan.
